Pomegranate

The tree on which the pomegranate grows is not actually a tree, but a shrub. A bush with long thorny branches, which can grow up to 6 meters high. And even 200 years old! The pomegranate is originally from Persia (now Iran). Nowadays you see the fruits everywhere in countries with a subtropical climate. The pomegranate tree (actually the bush) is probably the apple tree from the Garden of Eden. They were called ‘the tree of good and evil’. Because Adam & Eve could not resist the (grenade) apple, they were banished from Paradise …
