Plantain is best used when the skin has turned completely black. This is then very easy to remove. The peel of the banana is cut on the convex side, after which the peel can be removed. Unripe banana bananas can also be used. Because in the case of immature planted bananas, a milky substance is released during peeling, the bananas must be properly washed off after peeling under running water. The cooking or baking time is between 15 and 20 minutes for an unripe banana, shorter for a ripe (with black skin).
